Enzo Zidane, son of football legend Zinedine Zidane, has retired from professional football at the age of 29.
He last played for Fuenlabrada in Spain’s third tier and has decided to focus on personal matters, including his family and investments.
Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news, stating, “Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo has retired from football at the age of 29.”
During his ten-year career, Enzo—the oldest of Zidane’s four sons—made 203 appearances, scoring 13 goals and dishing out 24 assists.
Before finishing with Fuenlabrada, where he made 29 appearances, his career included stints with Real Madrid, Castilla, Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron.
His most notable moment came during his single appearance for Real Madrid’s senior team, where he scored on his debut in a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory over Cultural Leonesa.
While Enzo has decided to leave football behind, his brothers remain active in the sport.
His brothers; Luca Zidane is currently Eibar’s starting goalkeeper, Theo Zidane plays midfield for Córdoba in the third tier, and the youngest, Elyaz Zidane, recently joined the Real Betis academy and represents France at the U-17 level.
