The father of Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has reacted to the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow artist, Davido.
The long-standing tensions between Wizkid and Davido has been the subject of numerous debates among fans, with both musicians being regarded as some of the biggest names in the Nigerian music industry
Chief balogun , Speaking about the situation, disclosed in an exclusive interview with Punch Newspapers that he has advised his son to ignore the provocations coming from Davido’s fan base, urging him to stay focused and avoid unnecessary distractions.
“I told my son that he shouldn’t look or listen to whatever the boys who are supporters of Davido are saying. The supporters are only looking for what they will say to collect money and all of that.”He said
He also mentioned that the rivalry is something he has observed online.
According to him, fans often seek attention and stir up controversy for their benefit, adding that Wizkid should rise above the noise.
“They are just looking for what they are going to eat and I told him not to pay much attention to them,” he added.
