Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the US to present his plan to end the two-and-a-half years of war with Russia.
Zelenskyy plans to attend meetings at the UN general assembly and submit his proposed ideas, which he refers to as a “victory plan,” to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, and President Joe Biden.
The visit was scheduled after a season of a bloody conflict, during which Moscow quickly advanced towards eastern Ukraine but Kyiv held onto large portions of Russia’s Kursk area.
In a late video posted on X Zelenskeyy in an address from a plane, he called on his allies to contribute to “a shared victory for a truly just peace.” “This fall will determine the future of this war,” he declared.
It was later reported that he landed in New York and is scheduled to visit the country’s capital later.
David Lammy, the UK foreign secretary, argued that it was a time for “nerve and guts”.
He disclosed that careful talks with the White House are still in progress to let Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles within Russia.
