President Bola Tinubu has approved free train service nationwide starting from December 20, 2024 to January 6, 2025 to help caution high transportation fare during the Christmas season.
Edum News reports that this was made public by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Council meeting presided over by the President at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Giving details on this, he said, “Recall that this also happened in the last Christmas period and the Sallah period. And Mr President has also approved that this year, from December 20 to January 5, there will be free train transport service nationwide.”
Idris also revealed that the cabinet members will embark on recess from 18th December and resume on January 6, 2025.
