Tesla has unveiled its first all-electric battery-powered train, the “Giga Train,” in Germany.

The train, which takes passengers from Erkner Station to Tesla Sud, is expected to transport 4,500 employees to and from the factory, based on three eight-hour shifts.

In comparison to other trains, the free service is anticipated to reduce 50 tons of carbon dioxide pollution for both regular passengers and Tesla staff.

Theresa Eggler, the project manager at Tesla, expressed her happiness with the electric train’s shift to renewable energies in an interview with journalists.

She said that this transition is in line with the company’s objective to speed the shift to renewable energy.

In her words: “We are particularly pleased that the Tesla train shuttle is now battery-electric because it is simply in line with our company mission: to accelerate the transition to renewable energies.

“Niederbarnimer Eisenbahngesellschaft (NEB) intends to transition its fleet from diesel to e-trains by the end of this year.

“The deployment of the electric train is a huge environmental triumph for Tesla, as it is estimated to avoid 50 tons of CO2 pollution when compared to other trains.

“The train is planned to be completed by the end of the year, with an additional stop added once the area’s work is completed”.
