Residents of Mani community near a factory in Rido Ward of Chikun Local Government area of Kaduna State, have been thrown into a state of tension as gunmen abducted 22 persons in a fresh attack, Edum News reports.
The gunmen reportedly carried out separate attacks, kidnapping people from both Mani community and Danhonu II Millennium City Kaduna.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that among those abducted, is a woman and her three children.
According to him, six of his relatives are also among those taken to the forest by the gunmen.
He however, stated that no communication has been established between the community and the abductees as they are yet to reach out to the community about what they want.
He called on the authorities to come to their rescue and ensure that the abductees are released to their families.
He also lamented that residents now live in fear as they do not know what will become of them everyday, adding that the rate of kidnap and attack from bandits have increased in an alarming rate.
The Kaduna State Police Command is yet to react to the incident.
