Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development has congratulated D’Tigress on their remarkable performance and the dedication, hard work, and unyielding spirit.
The team had made history by reaching the quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics for the first time ever, beating Canada 79-70.
The team also became the first African team (Male or Female) to qualify for the quarterfinals at the Olympics Games.
They secured a thrilling victory over Canada, the fifth-ranked team in the world, to advance to the quarterfinals. They also achieved notable victories against Australia and Canada, but lost to France in a closely contested match.
They have navigated numerous challenges and celebrated significant successes, and now stand poised to continue their impressive journey in the tournament.
Enoh expressed pride in the team’s perseverance and teamwork, and looked forward to their continued success in the tournament.
