Soldiers torture Poly student to death in Lafia

Terhile Timothy Achinya, a mechanical engineering student at Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, has been allegedly beaten to death by military men.

The incident started when a student named Samuel Ejembi informed military men about alleged cult activities.

According to the reports, the military took the accused students into custody and interrogated them and in the process Achinya died during the torture and interrogations, and his body has been deposited at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital.

The Students Union Government President of the school, Comr. Jacob John Mutuwa, praised the students for their calm stance despite the tragic death and assured that legal action had been instituted against the killers.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has also called for prompt action to bring the perpetrators to book.

Comr. Daniel Friday Egga, NANS Zone C Coordinator appreciated the management and SUG leadership’s action in addressing the matter and called on the government and individuals to join hands in seeking justice for the victim and his family.
