Chelsea forward, Nicolas Jackson has responded angrily to former Blues midfielder Mikel Obi, who recently criticized his play.
Jackson told Mikel to “shut his mouth” after Mikel implied that Jackson wasted too many opportunities during Sunday’s match against Manchester City.
Mikel also alluded to the possibility that Chelsea should look into signing Victor Osimhen as a possible replacement.
In the meantime, the Senegalese forward referenced an image from a well-known soccer page, after he scored his first goal in Sunday’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, winning 6-2.
Jackson rejoiced following his goal during Wolves’ EPL encounter against Chelsea FC at Molineux and responded to Mikel’s remarks directly on social media after the game.
“Mikel Obi, shut your mouth, don’t talk sh*t, we are killing ourselves for Africa,” Jackson wrote in a post on Instagram.
The forward headed in at the back post inside the opening two minutes for Chelsea’s first goal.
Mikel, 37, fired a shot on beIN Sport in reference to Jackson’s goal-scoring ability during Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Man City last weekend.
The legendary Blues player stated,
“We created chances, we haven’t taken them. And just an example of how Jackson finishes.
“You can see there, even though he was offside, he dribbles [past] one or two or three players and the way he shoots the ball!
“You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball back in the back of the net and that’s what we don’t have.
“I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don’t disrespect him.
“I think at Chelsea Football Club we need a top striker who can get us a goal.
“A bit like [Haaland], 91 goals [for City] that’s absolutely unbelievable.”
