Former Kaduna Central Senator,!Shehu Sani has urged Nigerian state governors against negotiating contracts with foreign firms.

Sani cautioned state governors to exercise prudence while signing contracts with foreign corporations to avoid the seizing of Nigerian jets and assets.

On his verified X handle, the former legislator stated;
“All the State Governors signing contracts with foreign firms should be careful so that they will not start seizing the diaspora properties after they confiscate all our remaining planes.”

His warning came in the midst of a contract dispute between Nigeria and the Chinese company Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited.

Fucheng was recently granted an order to take a Dassault Falcon 7X, an Airbus A330-243, and a Boeing 737-7N6/BBJ belonging to the Nigerian government.
This comes after the Ogun State Government revoked the company’s export processing zone management contract in 2016.

The corporation, dissatisfied with the Ogun State Government’s actions, requested the intervention of a French court in his contractual issue.

In its verdict, the court ordered the confiscation of three Nigerian government jets.

However, sources indicated that one of the jets was released for President Bola Tinubu’s usage.
