Portugal to launch new currency in honour of Ronaldo

Portuguese government set to unveil a new Euro coin in honour of Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to journalist Carol Radull, the move is in recognition of the 39-year-old’s outstanding achievements for club and nation throughout his spectacular football career.

Ronaldo, who is currently transforming the game in Saudi Arabia after making his reputation at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, had a key role in Portugal’s historic Euro 2016 victory, and he also won the UEFA Nations League with A Selecao in 2019.

With millions of fans worldwide, the four-time European Golden Shoe winner recently made history by being the first individual to have one billion followers across several social media platforms.

He has also achieved the esteemed 900-goal milestone in his career and is still going strong.

According to reports, Portugal will honour the accomplishments of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner by releasing a special 7 Euro coin.
