The Kano State Police Command has presented cheques worth N83,102,207.38 to 45 families of deceased officers and those injured in the line of duty.
CP Salman Dogo, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command made the presentation at the Police Headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Command’s spokesman SP Abdullahi Haruna.
Haruna said,“The gesture is the reinforcement of the Police Force ’s commitment and dedication to supporting its officers and their immediate family members.
“The presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries is a transparent demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.”
While celebrating and expressing their appreciation, the beneficiaries thanked the IGP and promised to make good use of the money, saying it came at the time it was most needed.
“The IGP’s welfare scheme is a testament to the police force’s commitment to its personnel and their families. This initiative has benefited numerous families across the country, demonstrating the force’s resolve to care for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
“The presentation ceremony serves as a reminder of the police force’s dedication to its personnel and their families. It underscores the importance of recognising the sacrifices made by officers in the line of duty and providing support during times of need.”
