Dino Melaye, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kogi State, claimed that the party’s leadership has destroyed the party beyond repair.

He m accused Senator Samuel Anyanwu, interim national secretary Umar Iliya Damagum, and national organizing secretary Umar Bature of being responsible for the party’s poor performance.

Melaye, who was a member of the National Assembly, has not raised much of a fuss following his defeat and has declined to appeal the decision in court.

He posted on his official X account, saying:

“End of the road for PDP as Damagun, Bature, and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party. We will talk about the commercialisation and privatisation of PDP. PDP is now once upon a time.”

His statement comes after PDP lawmakers in the House of Representatives accused Damagum and Anyanwu of wrongdoing.

Ikenga Ugochinyere, a spokesman and member of the House of Representatives for the Ideato Federal Constituency, detailed several occurrences that he claimed were a deliberate attempt by Damagum and Anyanwu to weaken the PDP.

The lawmakers claimed that party leaders were attempting to destroy the PDP by providing legal support to defected former Rivers State House of Assembly members.

According to them, this was an attempt to remove Rivers State governor Sim Fubara from office.

Damagum responded to the charge, stated that no one could force him into resigning from his job.
