According to RAI Sport, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has a €90 million release clause in case he makes a permanent move during the January transfer window.
The Nigerian international had previously drawn interest from teams like Al-Ahli, Chelsea, and PSG, but discussions broke down during the summer. He joined Galatasaray on loan earlier this season.
Before his loan move, Osimhen extended his contract with Napoli until June 2027, and his release clause was reduced from €130 million to €75 million.
However, RAI Sport journalist Ciro Venerato argues, via Corriere Azzurro, that a separate €90 million clause allows Osimhen to leave Napoli in January, despite the fact that it does not apply to Serie A clubs.
Juventus has been linked with a move for the 25-year-old striker, but Galatasaray vice-president İbrahim Hatipoğlu has confirmed that Osimhen will not depart in January.
The prolific attacker, who was Serie A’s top scorer in the 2022-23 season, scored his first two goals for Galatasaray in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa. Osimhen had 76 goals in 133 games for Napoli prior to his temporary departure.
