Onyinyechi Mark wins Nigeria’s first gold, sets world record

Onyinyechi Mark, a Nigerian powerlifter made history in the Paris Paralympics, winning gold in the women’s 61kg powerlifting category with a spectacular lift of 150kg.

The 23-year-old’s remarkable effort on Friday propelled her to victory, defeating China’s Cui Jianjin, who won silver with a lift of 140kg, and Mexico’s Amelia Perez, who won bronze with a lift of 130kg.
