Speaking in an interview with Livescore, the Football star expressed pride in Nigeria’s food and sporting achievements.
According to him, Nigeria tops the chart when it comes to culinary expertise, adding that the country has also produced revered football icons.
The striker also celebrated Nigeria’s music, favorable weather, and fashion sense.
He also revealed that Nigerian rapper, Olamide is his favorite musician while Napoli star, Victor Osimhen is the most stylish player in his books.
His ranking of Nigerian food, football, fashion and others above that of the British has sparked mixed reactions from netizens on social media.
While Nigerians are concurring with him and also lauding him for being able to speak well of the country despite playing professionally in England, others are berating him on the grounds that his position is biased.
This according to them is because the Footballer who is originally Nigerian has no choice but to speak well for his country.
Nigerians on the other hand are against this school of thought as they are insisting that if it were not the truth the footballer would have sided with England since he is currently playing for them.
They also shared instances where some Nigerians who go abroad begin to speak ill of the country in their quest for ‘greener pastures.’
