Nigeria’s youth women’s national team, the Falconets, are scheduled to face Germany in their second group game at the 11th FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The Falconets defeated Korea Republic 1-0 in the Estadio El Techo in Bogota, Colombia, on Sunday night. Flourish Sabastine’s 86th-minute goal proved crucial in a closely contested Group D match.
Following the triumph, Falcons’ head coach, Christopher Danjuma told FIFA.com that he is optimistic about his team’s capacity to perform better against Germany.
He stated: “It was a tough match, being the first match. The victory is sweet because it puts your foot in the group.
“My team performed well, but I know we’re going to perform much, much, much better than this”.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two nations, with Nigeria still looking for their first victory over Germany in the competition, having fallen in the finals in 2010 and 2014.
Date & Time: Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Bogota’s 10,000-seat Estadio Metropolitano de Tech will see the Falconets of Nigeria play Germany.
Where to Watch: The game is scheduled to begin at 11:00 PM Nigerian time and will be televised live on SuperSport and FIFA+.
