The Malaysian government has announced that it will phase out the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles and end the sale of such vehicles in the country in 2025.
Edum News reports that the announcement which was made by the country’s transport minister, Loke Siew Fook has sparked various reactions among reactions among Nigerians as the Federal government have been advocating for the use of such vehicles in Nigeria.
Giving details on the ban, Fook noted that the decision is due safety concerns.
He further noted that CNG (NGV in Malaysia) powered vehicles would no longer be registered to be used in Malaysia from July 1, 2025.
