Mofi Atilola, others shine at CBN Junior Tennis Championship

Over 300 young Nigerians who were passionate about tennis came together at the esteemed Lagos Lawn Tennis Club Arena on Saturday, September 7, 2024, for the grand finals of the 2024 Central Bank of Nigeria Junior Tennis Championship.

Goodluck Tersoo of Benue State defeated Ikem Amasiani of Abuja 3-1 in the U-12 boys division before outclassing Isa Yahaya in the U-14 boys category to
emerge double champion and take home two trophies, courtesy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, while Mofi Atilola of Lagos State defeated Bisola Ogunkolade 3-0 to win the U-14 girls category.

In the boys U-16 division, David Edward (Lagos) defeated Dubem Amasiani (AAbuja) 4-0, while Gloria Samuel defeated Goodnews Aina 3-2 in a closely contested all-Ekiti State final.

Success Godwin won the girls U-12 title, defeating Mabubat Rasaki 3-1 in the final.

Godwin Kieka, Championship Coordinator, complimented the Central Bank of Nigeria for continuing to finance the annual CBN Junior Tennis Championship, which has helped to improve tennis in the country.
