Libya Deports Seven Nigerians Over law Violations

Seven Nigerians have been deported from Libya for breaching the country’s laws, Edum News reports.

According to reports, asides from the seven Nigerians deported, six others who are from different countries were also deported from Libya.

Their deportation which was overseen by Libya’s Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM), took place at the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Center in Benghazi.

Giving a breakdown of the deported nationalities, Migrant Rescue Watch on Tuesday revealed that they included; seven Nigerians, three Bangladeshis, and three Ghanaians.

In a statement on their X handle on Tuesday, Migrant Rescue Watch confirmed that these individuals were deported for violating Libyan law.

The statement read, “DCIM deported 13 migrants (3 Bangladeshis, 3 Ghanaians, and 7 Nigerians) from the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre via Benina International Airport in Benghazi. All individuals were deported for violating laws in force in the Libyan state.”

The deportees were escorted out of Libya via Benina International Airport in Benghazi amid increasing efforts by Libyan authorities to manage illegal migration within their borders.
