Four family members have been kidnapped by a group of abductors in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The incident took place at the Tundun Fulani extension area of the Bwari Area Council on Friday at around 1:30 am.

An anonymous local resident said that the kidnappers broke into the family’s home and took the victims. The resident also said that one other person who managed to escape being taken captive was shot by the kidnappers.

When contacted, FCT command police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh stated that the police were handling the situation.

“There was a kidnap incident in Tundun Fulani extension in Bwari around 1:30 am. The kidnappers were numerous and fully armed. The kidnappers broke into a house and kidnapped four members of the same family. They also shot one person who escaped being kidnapped.

“We reacted quickly. We have control over the circumstance”.

In the recent past, kidnapping occurrences have occurred in the FCT’s Bwari district. On May 8, during an assault of Piko, a secluded community in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja, thirteen people were abducted by suspected gunmen.

Nathaniel, a resident of El-Rufai Estate in the Bwari Area of the Federal Capital Territory, was shot by kidnappers in July following the failure of their attempt to kidnap him.

Prior to the operation being thwarted by FCT police command operatives working with troops, the kidnappers had attempted to abduct numerous residents.
