The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has sacked the Director General of its National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), Baltasar Ebang Engonga over his involvement in over 400 sex scandals, Edum News reports.
Following Engonga’s dismissal, the President appointed Zenón Obiang Obiang Avomo as the new Director General of ANIF.
Speaking on Engonga’s sack, the Equatorial Guinea President noted that his dismissal was premised on Decree No. 118/2024 of the country’s law.
The President further noted that his offense was against the requirements of public office and allowing him to continue in the office will further ridicule the country in the outside world.
