Segun Showunmi, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, has advised Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke to avoid distractions and concentrate on his determined plans to assist the state’s citizens.
Showunmi, in a statement made available tojournalists, also urged other state governors to utilize the vast resources at their disposal to build their respective states.
He stated that his visit to Osun State on Wednesday to congratulate the governor’s wife, Ngozi Adeleke, on her 51st birthday, provided insight into the many projects undertaken by the Adeleke administration.
He stated, “I arrived in Osun State yesterday to join well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating the wife of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Her Excellency, Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke.
“Honestly, I was not expecting much from the governor of Osun State in terms of projects, because the best the media has been projecting about him was just his Davidic nature, the dancing swag.
“With little hope, I asked one of his men to show me Governor Ademola Adeleke’s projects in the state, then what I saw wowed me. I hope the governor will remain focused to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, and not be distracted by political opportunists”.
Showunmi stated that such programs had “great potential to positively influence people’s living standards.
“At times, I got lost because when you get a lot from somewhere with little or no expectations, you’re more likely to experience what’s known as momentary freezing.
“To develop our country, we must develop the states,” he continued.
