Former AC Milan manager, Fabio Capello has cautioned Atalanta that selling Ademola Lookman could ruin the team’s chances of taking home trophies this year.
Capello advised that Atalanta hold onto Lookman and their other top players, adding that it would be tough for the club if Koopmeiners and Lookman were to leave.
“If Koopmeiners and Lookman leave after injuries to Scamacca and Scalvini, it would be tough for Gasperini,” Capello was quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
In the May UEFA Europa League final, La Dea defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Lookman.
For the previous two seasons, the 27-year-old has been voted Astlanta’s top player. The Nigerian international star has recently been connected to moves to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, the winners of Ligue 1.
The quick winger skipped practice in response to PSG’s contact, thus he was unable to play in Gian Piero Gasperini’s team’s Serie A match against Leece on Monday.
Lookman, however, is anticipated to play in this weekend’s matchup with Torino after returning to training with his teammates on Thursday.
