Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, has chosen Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz as her running mate in the November 2024 presidential poll.

Walz, 60, is a US Army veteran and former high school teacher.

On July 21, Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris, the incumbent US Vice President, making her the presidential frontrunner.

Harris’ selection of Walz, a military veteran, retired educator, and union backer, signals another significant step forward in the short time since the vice president unexpectedly secured her party’s ticket.

According to a source close to Walz, the choice was influenced by the “chemistry” between the vice president and governor, as well as the governor’s popularity in the US Midwest.

“The time they spent together during Walz’s reelection campaign in 2022, as well as their visit to the abortion clinic in March of this year, appears to have had a significant impact.

“On top of that, the Harris campaign, like all of us, saw how electrifying Walz was for the base. They saw how popular he is in Minnesota after passing a landmark, progressive agenda.

“The vetting of Walz went quite well. So, as some have said, it’s a Goldilocks situation. Everything was just right,” the insider stated.
