Victor Boniface, a Super Eagles forward, believes he will win the African Player of the Year award ahead of Ademola Lookman, another Nigerian star.

During an interview with SportyTV, Boniface, who scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in Leverkusen’s successful season, expressed his high hopes.

Lookman’s season-long achievements also won him a spot on the prestigious Ballon d’Or nomination list, cementing his place as one of Africa’s best players. Despite Lookman’s accomplishments, Boniface is convinced that he deserves the title of Africa’s top player. “Probably between myself and Lookman.

“I will run for African Footballer of the Year because I believe in myself,” he said boldly. “If it’s just what we did last season, I’ll pick myself.” In addition to his personal objectives, Boniface offered information about Victor Osimhen’s transfer predicament, stating the Napoli striker’s desire to play in the English Premier League.

During summer transfer speculation linking Osimhen to Chelsea, Boniface said that the striker has a great desire to move to move to England. “Three different parties – Napoli, Chelsea

Victor Osimhen’s mentality is powerful. “I know he really wants to come to the Premier League,” Boniface said. Boniface also addressed reports about Osimhen’s probable move to Saudi Arabia, denying them while offering light on the complexities of transfer negotiations. “There’s stuff that happened that no one knows about except for what people say on the internet.

People are unaware of certain details. As I previously stated, I’m not thinking of Saudi Arabia,” he added. Boniface has five goals in six games this season (four goals and one assist), demonstrating his great form for Bayer Leverkusen. As he strives for greater success with his club, he is committed to earning individual triumph on the African football stage.
