The Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, resilient, and work towards maintaining a culture of excellence.
On Tuesday, he said that Nigeria can succeed despite negative forecasts or opinions from other nations.
Dr Kefas in his message to mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary on his verified X handle @GovAgbuKefas, called on Nigerians to reflect on the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers while working to maintain a culture of excellence.
He said, “Today commemorates the realisation of our founding fathers’ dream for independence, with Nigeria now a sovereign state making steady progress.
“This occasion reminds us that we can succeed despite negative forecasts or opinions from other nations. As we celebrate our independence, we must work hard to maintain our culture of excellence,”.
According to him, Nigeria has a crucial role to play not only on the global stage, but also in fostering development across the African continent.
He went ahead to encourage the youth of Taraba State to see themselves as drivers of progress, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to growth and innovation.
“To Taraba State’s young people, you are the catalysts for the development and change you seek. We will continue to support you and provide the necessary environment for growth and innovation,” he said.
The governor expressed his strong belief in Nigeria’s abundance of natural and human resources, noting that the country is blessed by God with sufficient resources and a vibrant, friendly population, known for their creativity.
He prayed for both Taraba state and Nigeria, wishing the nation a prosperous future as it continues its journey of nationhood.
