Ballon d’Or 2024: Five top contenders [See list]

A new ranking has indicated a potential winner of this 2024 Ballon d’Or.

The rating, according to sportskeeda.com, includes Euro and Copa America stars.

Currently, some of its representatives are competing for football’s most prestigious individual honor.

Argentina, on the other hand, successfully defended its Copa America championship this year, putting its captain, Lionel Messi, into the top five contenders for the award.

The following are the current favorites likely to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

5: Lionel Messi (Inter Miami, Argentina)

Messi has emerged as the first Major League Soccer (MLS) player to remain firmly in contention for the Ballon d’Or. In just 12 MLS games this season, he has scored 12 goals and provided nine assists. In five matches, he has contributed one goal and one assist to Argentina’s Copa America victory.

4: Lautaro Martinez, an Argentinean from Inter Milan
Lautaro Martinez, the striker for Inter Milan, guided the team to a league title last season with 24 goals for the team in Serie A. In addition, he won his third trophy with Argentina and scored five goals during their Copa America campaign.

3: Jude Bellingham (England/Real Madrid)
Last season, he netted seven goals for his country and club in the dying minutes. Last season, the England international’s late goals helped Real Madrid win up to 10 points on his alone.
Bellingham is recognized as one of the top players in the world of football right now and has a chance to win the Ballon d’Or.

2: Rodri (Spain, Manchester City)
The Manchester City player was the undisputed puppet master behind Spain’s victory at Euro 2024 and has been incredibly dominant with the ball over the past year.
He was named “Player of the Tournament” for his 2024 European Championship efforts.
The Spaniard is one of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or this year and also won the Premier League title the previous season.

1: Vinicius Junior (Brazil/Real Madrid)
The assailant from Brazil has performed admirably for Real Madrid, helping them to repeat as UEFA Champions League winners last year. He led his team in scoring with six goals and four assists.
