The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), FCT Chapter, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to address the issue of hunger ravaging the country, Edum News Reports.

The chairman of the association, Dr Charles Ugwuanyi, made this appeal while speaking to newsmen on Monday.

He urged the President to make the economy friendly, so that the citizens will be able to afford the basic necessities.

He also noted that President Bola Tinubu needs to review the security situation in the country, which according to him, is seriously affected by so many things.

He wrote, ”We are calling on the president to make the economy friendly so Nigerians will be able to put food on their tables.

“In recent times, President Tinubu’s desire to rescue the country from so many issues that have bedevilled it has thrown severe hardship on Nigerians.

“In spite of his efforts, hunger and unbearable conditions in many parts of the country persisted, fueling public discontent.

“The dire economic situation has led many to view protests as a necessary outlet for their frustrations; such action also threaten national security of the country.

”The government must address the main issue of hunger and cost of food.

“The president should address all these challenges and other economy-related issue like the cost of fuel that is injecting pain on the people”.
