A Nursing mother identified as Blessing Ibuku has been arrested by officers of the Delta State Police Command for killing her 10-months old baby, Prevail Jonathan into a River.
Edum News gathered that Ibukun threw the baby into the River because her friends were mocking her.
The suspect confessed to the police that she threw her baby into the river on November 31, 2024.
This was revealed by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, at a press briefing in Asaba on Tuesday.
Giving details, he revealed that the police had received a case of a missing 10-month-old child named Prevail on December 4, 2024.
While at the station, alongside Blessing, the CP said Police received a call that a child was found floating at the Aviara community river.
Upon bringing the dead child to the station, it was discovered that it was the body of the same missing child.
The suspect confessed during investigation that she threw the baby away because her friends and other girls were making jest of her that the child did not have a father.
