The Member of the House of Representatives representing the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Plateau State, Ajang Iliya, who was elected under the platform of the Labour Party (LP) has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Edum News reports that his defection is coming barely a week after the LP lost five other of its members in the House to the APC.
Iliya’s defection was announced on Thursday during plenary session by the House Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.
In his letter, Iliya cited “the crisis in the leadership of the Labour Party,” and other related issues as reasons for the development.
He also noted that he “finds it difficult to align with LP’s position on current issues.”
