BREAKING: Saudi Arabia To Host 2034 World Cup

Saudi Arabia To Host 2034 World Cup

International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on Wednesday confirmed Saudi Arabia as host of the 2034 World Cup, Edum News reports.

The development according to reports underscores the growing influence of the Kingdom in the world of sport despite criticism of the country’s human rights record.

Similarly, a virtual Congress of world football’s governing body confirmed that Morocco, Spain, and Portugal will be joint hosts of the 2030 World Cup, which will also see three games played in South America.

Although the 2034 World Cup is still a decade (10 years) away, numerous issues surround Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the tournament.

This is as there have been rising concerns following it’s announcement as people are questioning the Kingdom’s treatment towards women and the LGBTQ+ community.

They are also of the opinion that there is a need to build stadiums and infrastructure, adding that the temperature should be considered depending on when the tournament will be played.
