The newly elected President of the United States of America (USA), Donald Trump has said that he would stop illegal immigration in the country by imposing a 25 per cent tariff on goods from Canada, Mexico and China.
Speaking in a statement on Monday, Trump also reveals plans to impose a 10 per cent tariff on imports from China for its illegal drug trade.
Edum News reports that he further revealed that he would implement the tariffs from next year January 20, 2024.
Trump said, “On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders.
“I will also be slapping China with a 10 per cent tariff, above any additional Tariffs, on all of its products entering the US in response to its failure to tackle fentanyl smuggling.”
