Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has expressed his sadness over the tragic news of the beheading of a couple in Bende Local Government Area of the state.
The victims, Mr Jacob Udo, and his wife, Mrs Comfort Udo, were murdered in cold blood by yet-to-be-identified assailants.
A Press statement released by Otti’s Chief Press Secretary, Njuko Ukoha, clearly stated that Governor Alex Otti was personally pained by such a criminal and dastardly act.
According to him, the governor directed security agencies in the state to thoroughly investigate and bring the culprits to book.
He has also directed government officials to see how the dependants of deceased couple can be assisted in the interim.
The statement read, “On behalf of the government of Abia State, I commiserate with the family of the victims and assure them that the government is working round the clock to bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice.”
