Former President, Donald Trump has announced that he will not debate Vice President Kamala Harris a second time before Election Day.
“THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He claimed that “polls clearly show” that he won the debate, but did not provide any evidence to back up his claim.
Three polls conducted soon following the date revealed that Harris outperformed Trump.
CNN/SSRS reported Harris topping Trump by 63%-37%, SoCal Strategies/On Point Politics/Red Eagle Politics by 53%-34%, and YouGov by 54%-31%.
Two further post-debate polls released Thursday showed Harris extending her national advantage over Trump.
A national Morning Consult poll shows Harris with a five-point lead over Trump, up three points from Tuesday’s debate. A Reuters/Ipsos survey likewise showed Harris with a five-point advantage.
Moments after his post, VP Harris mounted the stage at a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, and declared, “We owe it to the voters to have another debate!”
The Harris campaign had earlier demanded on Tuesday that the two candidates participate in a second debate in October.
However it remains uncertain if there would be any debate scheduled again between the two rivals.
