A fundraiser event for some of the rioters who invaded the Capitol on January 6, 2021, set for today at Donald Trump’s golf club in New Jersey, has been postponed indefinitely.

The website for the event states that the J6 Awards Gala, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday at Trump’s Bedminster golf club, has been “postponed” and that the new location and time will be revealed soon.

Trump has been invited to speak at the event, and confirmed speakers include conservative influencer Anthony Raimondi, former Trump White House adviser Peter Navarro, and former New York City mayor and lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

Tickets for the event, which ranged from $1,500 for general admission to $50,000 for a “platinum table” for 12 at the VIP reception, were advertised as a means to “honor and celebrate” some of the January 6 defendants “who have shown incredible courage and sacrifice.”

The New York Times reported that it had received text messages from the event planners citing “multiple issues outside of our control, the main one being safety concerns of attendees and staff” as the reason for the postponement, however the event website gave no explanation.
