Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump has stated that his administration will cater for the payment of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatments if elected, Edum News reports.
He stated this in an interview on NBC News on Thursday.
Trump noted that he has always rooted for IVF for women who are unable to conceive naturally, adding that his administration will pay or insurance companies will be mandated to do so.
This campaign pledge is also coming after his Democratic rival, Vice-President Kamala Harris, and other members of her party alleged that Republican-led abortion restrictions in some states could further threaten access to fertility treatments.
He said, “I was always for IVF. Right from the beginning, as soon as we heard about it.
“Under the Trump administration, we are going to be paying for that treatment,” Trump told the news outlet. “Or we’re going to be mandating that the insurance company pay”.
