A 36-year-old woman known as Idara Basey died tragically while undergoing a controversial buttock enlargement therapy at a facility in Lagos State’s affluent Lekki-Phase 1 region.

The tragic incident, which has sent shockwaves across the community, occurred at 3 p.m. on a perfectly routine Monday afternoon.

According to sources, Abiola left the comforts of her home in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki, with the clear aim of changing her appearance, and instructed her driver to take her to the clinic, where her fate would be sealed.

As soon as the owner got to the clinic, he gave a nurse the order to administer an injection that would start the procedure but what started off as a straightforward cosmetic enhancement swiftly devolved into a nightmare.

Abiola’s condition quickly got worse following the injection. She passed out right away, and her breathing got difficult and erratic, instilling anxiety in the clinic staff.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1 for treatment in order to prevent further complications, before she was pronounced dead.

The regrettable incident has sparked outrage and calls for justice, to which the Lagos State Police Command has dutifully responded.

The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, told journalists that the suspect in this horrific incident has been apprehended.

“The deceased’s private driver reported the incident to the Maroko division. After our police arrived, the body was taken to a public morgue so that an autopsy could be performed. An inquiry is still underway, and the nurse who gave the deceased the injection has been arrested”.
