President Bola Tinubu has appointed Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Federal Civil Service, succeeding Folasade Yemi-Esan, who resigned during a valedictory session held by the Federal Executive Council on Monday.
The President briefly mentioned that the new Head of Service is stepping into a big shoe left by the departing Yemi-Esan prayed God to guide her with wisdom to run the service rightly.
He also commended the former Head of Service for her exceptional service in the federal civil service, expressing gratitude for her dedication, efficiency, and professionalism while in office.
In his words “we must thank her for serving our nation exceptionally well, with dedication, efficiency and professionalism in the federal civil service.
“We express our gratitude for her unwavering commitment to the service of the nation.”
George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, praised the outgoing Head of Service for her dedication and concern for improving the performance of civil servants in the country.
He emphasized that she has played a crucial role in developing policies that have strengthened the federal civil service and left a legacy of excellence.
“She has been instrumental in evolving policies that strengthened the performance management in the federal civil service. She is leaving behind a legacy of excellence for the civil servants to follow,” he said.
